For many years solar power has been the energy source of choice for industrial, commercial, governmental, scientific, and recreational lighting applications in remote locations with abundant sunshine. Increasing fuel costs make solar an attractive cost-savings alternative to tying into available utility lines, as well.

Solar lighting is easy to install and environmentally friendly, especially when used with LEDs, compact fluorescent or low-pressure sodium lights. It uses free, renewable energy that is stored in a battery, ready to be used when darkness falls.

We offer pre-packaged and custom pole-mounted systems that can withstand extreme wind conditions, and NEMA 3R battery enclosures for completely self-contained solutions that protect against rain, sleet, and snow.

The Ameresco Solar team can design, engineer, and integrate solutions sized for your needs.

Easy to deploy
We work with you to size your solution and coordinate all the technologies involved. No wiring from the grid is required, so in most cases installation take less than a day.

Photovoltaic (PV) power supplies have no moving parts and modules generally carry 20-25 year warranties. Ameresco Solar deals only in modules and components with the highest
international standards, such as Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and Factory Mutual Research (FM) listings in the US, and approval by the Commission of the European Communities
(CEC) in Europe.

Cost effective
Used with efficient lights such as LEDs, with low power requirements, solar electricity is economically and technically attractive alternative to conventional energy sources. Solar systems are generally the least cost choice for remote lighting applications where utilities are unavailable.
