Energy-efficient upgrades, including a photovoltaic system that can be monitored by visitors, helped the Niles District Library in Niles, Michigan update aging energy infrastructure and control energy costs by using renewable energy.

Solar Powered Parking Meters

Amano-McGann

A self-contained, off-grid solar power system, including solar panels, cables, batteries and lights, allowed Amano McGann to provide a completely remote solution that eliminated the costs and challenges of trenching parking lots to supply energy.

Commercial and Government Solar Energy Solutions that Benefit the Bottom Line

Photovoltaic power provides an immediate solution for private enterprises and government organizations looking for ways to maximize their budgets and meet federal energy and emissions guidelines. The latest photovoltaic panel technology offers more efficiency than ever before, allowing solar power systems to generate more power in a smaller footprint.

Highly efficient solar modules provide a cost-effective solution for off-grid remote solar needs, including water pumps, substations and telecommunications towers. Solar power can also replace grid-tied energy solutions for dedicated devices, such as area lighting, street lights, sign illumination and traffic lights.

Ameresco Solar can help your organization design and draft solar-powered systems and choose best-in-class solar equipment with the capacity and ruggedness to deliver reliable performance in all environments. We can also help public housing, local and federal government agencies and private businesses fund their solar power systems through an energy saving performance contract, which can eliminate up-front costs.

White Tank Branch Library Solar Array

FEATURED CASE STUDY:
WHITE TANK BRANCH LIBRARY AND NATURE CENTER

Ameresco got involved at the design phase of the White Tank Library in Wadell, Arizona, enabling the company to make specific recommendations that maximize solar power generation and keep the necessary equipment out of public view.

A large photovoltaic system built onto the rear roof of the library will produce more than 89,000 kWh each year, enough to provide 25% of the library’s energy needs. Thanks to Ameresco’s involvement, the White Tank library is the first public library in Arizona and only the fourth nationwide to receive LEED Platinum Certification.
